Attempts at Making Tools 2. Published 11/4/21

About 2 months ago, I started off my blog by mentioning a few tools I have created.

But there were a few tools I didn't mention, or that hadn't been created yet. So I feel a sequel is in order to talk about a few new ones.

StoryMaker

I'm relatively proud of this one. It's super simple. Drag characters around and that's where they will be for the rest of the scene.

This is the scripting menu. You add lines, and the two characters will trade off speaking them. One speaks odd while the other speaks even numbered lines

Once you're done, click the play button to watch the script get recited in glorious Text to Speech. Bring a screen recorder, too, as there is no saving stories after you close the tab.

StoryMaker is very much a work in progress. I do want to work on it a bit more, and add props, more characters, etc.

Actually, while I was digging through old Scratch projects, I found a game called Jerry Simulator. Basically it was a game featuring a terribly cropped PNG of my cat. And the collisions were messed up, making it a lot more difficult.

(You can try it here)

But it turns out I made a level editor for it. It's very simple and nothing impressive. It has actually been broken for several years, and I just updated it with a patch that made it actually funtional.

The last one is a minified version of sortingh.at that was coded in MiniScript. It's a little bit smaller than I was hoping due to character limitations, but you can check it out here.

So that's it for this time. Sorry for the wait for this one.
